I. About the Song

"Mine" is a song written and performed by American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. Produced by Swift along with Nathan Chapman, it was released as the lead single from Swift's third studio album, Speak Now (2010) by Big Machine Records. Following an unauthorized internet leak, the song was released on August 4, 2010, two weeks earlier than the intended release date. 

Swift revealed that "Mine" was inspired by an unnamed crush in mind, saying "I was reflecting back on a boy I liked at a certain time." She also told MTV that the song is about what it would be like if she actually let her guard down. During a liveUstream chat with fans on July 20, 2010, Swift explained that the song is about "her tendency to run from love" after seeing many relationships end in goodbye and breakups. She continued, "I think I've developed this pattern of sort of running away when it comes time to fall in love and to stay in a relationship. The song is sort of about finding the exception to that and finding someone who would make you believe in love and realize that it could work out."

Critical reception for "Mine" was mostly positive. Swift was praised for her ability to show a mature perspective on love, although some critics called the song "formulaic" for resonating her earlier works, notably "Love Story". The song was commercially successful, as well; it became a top ten hit in Australia, Canada and Japan. The single was certified gold by the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA). In the United States, the song entered the Billboard Hot 100 at number three, making Swift the second female artist in the history of the Hot 100 to debut multiple tracks in the top five during a calendar year after Mariah Carey did so in 1995.

II. About the Songwriter

Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. One of the most popular contemporary female recording artists, she is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which has received much media attention.Taylor Alison Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania, and grew up in the suburban Philadelphia area. When she was 9 years old, her family rented a house in the suburban town of Wyomissing Pennsylvania, and she spent her elementary, junior high and high school. Also, she interested in musical that time, and she took lessons in singing, performing in Broadway regularly. Thereafter, she was affected by her grandmother who is a professional opera singer and LeAnn Reim who is a country singer, so she decided to become a country singer.  And she signed a contact with Big Machine Record and make album "Taylor Swift". The album was released on October 24, 2006. It recorded the prime fifth place.

Taylor Swift is a ten-time GRAMMY winner, the youngest recipient in history of the music industry’s highest honor, the GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year and she is the only female in the history of The Grammy's to win Album of the Year, twice. Taylor is the only artist in history to have an album hit the 1 million first-week sales figure three times (2010’s Speak Now, 2012’s RED and 2014’s 1989). She’s a household name whose insanely catchy yet deeply personal self-penned songs transcend music genres, and a savvy businesswoman who has built a childhood dream into an empire.

IV. My Reaction

A. Reaction Point - Theme（曲の歌詞の中心的な考え）

• Theme is the central idea of a song's lyrics.
• This song's theme is " You are the best person that I've ever met." because it sing " You are the best thing, that's ever been mine." over and over again.
• I think that the main character in this song have never met nice person in her life. But by having met " You" in the song, her life is change.

       I like this song because there is lyrics that we sympathize with in her song. Most of her songs are written based on her experience. So, we sympathize with her songs. When I want to relax, I listen to this song. It makes me feel happy. Also this music video matches this song, and it makes view of the world of this song. From these things, I like her song, and she is very popular singer all over the world.
